Das Mikroskop
The microscope is an audioplay, which i wrote in 2003. It' s a fairytale. So there are magicians and monsters in it and all that stuff that has to be in a fairytale, of course...It was written by following the next rhyme, so writing it was a kind of game, because i was also pretty surprised what came with the next rhyme. After having played that game for a while, i saw that there was a kind of structure in it, which i then worked with to get a real plot. I first tried to rap it on 90 bpm, but it was still to fast fot listeners, so now it's mostly rapped on 65 to 75 bpm, so that everyone can follow the story...
you can follow the story in a linear way through ten songs, but you can also listen to track 7 first for example,...and just perceive it as a song. You cannot listen to all of the songs here, because i didn't like the music for the songs 1 and 5, that means, that for the moment, there is no chance to listen to it in a linear way. Recording it as a narrative Rapaudioplay like i did it here, would only be one way of working with the story. Another way would be illustrating it, and publish it as a book,...already thought about that. I also performed it quite successfully on a stage. It's not easy to put find an audience for that format, because it is actually no format, but performing it in the "comedy lounge" in nuremberg in the stereo deluxe club was ok...The setting was more the one of a listening audience than a performance in a concert. I also rapped it a view times, improvising it over some beats, people danced to, and it was ok from a party point of view, but no one can really listen to the narration. The audience only hears the voice and see a rapper and there are some phat beats, and is therefor satisfied...If i would record it again, or do a similar project, i would totally drop the beats, and work with ambient sounds, like it is used in audioplays... Here are
